For propagating african violets
All About Gardening
Cleaning and disinfecting your tools will help keep your plants bacteria and disease free.
Be sure to choose a healthy leaf that will propagate a new and healthy plant.
With your clean tool, take your chosen leaf and trim it off at the crown of the plant.
Start with a combination of equal parts coconut coir and perlite, then throw in a few handfuls of vermiculite for additional drainage.
Press the base of the leaf cutting into the soil, making sure the rest of the leaf is above the soil.
Creating a warm, humid environment will help promote root growth.
