Taylor is a farmer-florist and owner at Sievers Blumen Farm, a fresh cut flower farm in rural Illinois. She was raised on a cattle and grain farm and grew up participating in 4-H, FFA, and several horse shows. Her main interests are cooking from scratch, creating unique bouquets for her customers, wild plant identification, and learning about plant history and uses. Taylor received her Master’s degree in Plant, Soil, & Agricultural Systems in 2016 from Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where she studied cover crops and soil fertility. She and her husband are working towards their goal of a mostly self-sustaining homestead. She chronicles her flower farming and homesteading experiences on her farm blog.
